Hip pain shows up in a lot of disguises, a deep pinch in the front, an ache on the outside, stiffness that makes putting on socks a chore. Because the hip is central to almost every movement, a cranky hip quietly drives low back and knee problems too.
We sort out what is actually generating your hip pain, then treat the tissue and rebuild the strength and mobility the joint needs to move cleanly again.
Getting the hip diagnosis right
Outside-the-hip pain is often gluteal tendon or bursa irritation. Front-of-hip pinching can be a labral or impingement issue. Deep, stiff, achy hips are frequently arthritic. Each needs a different emphasis, so the exam comes first.
From there we combine hands-on release for the tight muscles around the joint, modalities like laser and shockwave for tendon and arthritic pain, and the strength work that stabilizes the hip for good.
How we treat hip pain
- ART and dry needling for tight glutes, hip flexors, and deep rotators
- Mobility work to restore clean hip motion
- Shockwave for stubborn gluteal tendon pain
- Glute and core strengthening to stabilize the joint
